As Norma Desmond says, "It's a return." So far in 2025, here are five Broadway folk who are not making a comeback that we can't wait to see again!
Friday 5: 5 2025 Broadway Returns
We last saw him in: She Loves Me as Arpad (2016)
Nine years is a long time between shows!! We've been fans ever since his debut in the 2009 revival of West Side Story, when a a small boy, he sweetly sang "Somewhere." Since then, we have seen every show he's been in on Broadway, and we have no doubt that he'll be as great as always.
We last saw him in: actually, I've never seen him perform before!
So why am I looking forward to seeing him? Well, I've had my eye on his growing career and have followed him on social media for some time. He's done Broadway before (twice in Waitress) and a few National Tours. Along the way, he's done a fair amount of high profile television work (Madame Secretary) and film (Jersey Boys), but now he's back. It's his time!!
We last saw her in: Noises Off! (2016)
You never forget your first Glinda, and she was mine. It was her Broadway debut, and I've been smitten ever since. I've had the privilege of seeing her in every Broadway show she's been in since (I especially loved her in 9 to 5.), and can't wait to see her in her latest star turn!
We last saw her in: Emojiland (2020)
She's constantly over-the-top in all the best ways, and always makes us smile. Chewing the scenery as Mrs. Wormwood in Matilda was the last time we caught her on Broadway back in 2013, and now a dozen years later, we can't wait to see her be a demur-a stripper in Gypsy.
We saw her last in: Sunday in the Park with George (2008)
It has been some time since she's trod the Broadway boards, and she has quite a following. To be completely transparent, I don't really remember her in Sunday, some 17 years ago, so I am looking forward to reacquainting myself with her talents this spring.
What Broadway return are you most looking forward to this year? Let us know!
