Ms. Broadway November 2011
Mary Testa
WHY SHE'S MS. BROADWAY: With a career that now spans decades, she has one of the busiest and varied careers in New York theatre. She is known for her comic chops, dramatic intensity and powerful vocals. She is a muse and frequent collaborator of two of musical theatre's most complex and prolific writers, Michael John LaChuisa and William Finn. She stole the show in On the Town and 42nd Street, turning small supporting roles into Tony-nominated tours de force. Audiences love her (did you see her in Xanadu??) and critics are cheering her latest star turn. In fact, it is her performance in LaChuisa's Queen of the Mist that has earned Mary Testa the title of Ms. Broadway November 2011.
