Coming Soon to My CD Collection

So Christmas granted me some wonderful gifts from friends, which I've shared with you already... my Every Little Step DVD, and my two new books, I'm the Greatest Star and The Playbill Broadway Yearbook, Volume 5. But my CD collection didn't grow at all. And so there are two CDs that I will be adding to my collection very soon - and I'll share my thouhgts when I get them and give them a good listening to.

First up, of course- if you follow my blog, is Memphis, which is still only available online through their show website (http://www.memphisthemusical.com/) or at the Shubert Theatre. Needless to say, when I'm in town this weekend, I will be purchasing the Cast Recording! To whet my (and yours, I hope) appetite for the CD and seeing the show (you must go!), I got this great behind the scenes video that shows the cast recording the CD. You'll get to see Chad Kimball, Montego Glover and company perform brief (but juicy) segments from most of the main songs. I tried - and for about two minutes - to embed the video from Broadway.com. Not sure what I did wrong, but here's the link. Enjoy!

The other CD I am going to have to add to my collection soon is that one night only sensation, Glory Days. It was a show I enjoyed very much, and truly appreciated for taking the chance to articulate genuine feelings in male-male relationships. The cast was terrific, and if the show wasn't perfect (most shows aren't), it was a nice 90 minutes to spend. I am really looking forward to revisiting the score. The CD is available at http://www.sh-k-boom.com/.

If any of you already have either or both CDs, please share your thoughts!
