Chances are you've seen his work, even if you don't recognize Paul Tazewell's name. With a Broadway career that began with 1996's Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk and continues through his most recent, Ain't Too Proud, there has seldom been a time when his costume designs haven't been seen somewhere in the Theater District. Over the years, he's amassed 24 Broadway credits and countless off-Broadway, national tour and regional theater credits as well.
His efforts include a variety of styles and time periods: dance shows, revivals of classics, solo and specialty shows, dramas (including two sports plays!), jukebox shows, and original musicals. To date, his designs are probably most recognized by fans of a show called Hamilton. Soon, his work will bring to life the styles of Michael Jackson in MJ: The Musical.
