Blog # 100!

Today is, in the spectrum of things, a small milestone. This is my 100th blog! Granted, most theatre blogs are now years old, but blogging for 100 straight days is a pretty big deal to little old me! I can't guarantee that I won't miss a day here or there, but I am really enjoying writing for myself and for all of you who read my thoughts. One added benefit that I didn't expect is that I look forward to sitting down daily and pausing to think, reflect, whatever about something I love. It has become not a burden, but rather, am oasis in my day. About a half an hour (sometimes more if I am reviewing something) of me time every single day is fantastic and very rejuvenating.

Along the way (a very short way, actually, as 100 days ago was only the 29th of August) I have learned a great deal, and I'm not just talking about the limitations of this blog program! I've learned quite a bit about style - some of you have been kind enough to write in to let me know that the way I've written something is confusing or completely nonsensical. I've learned much about proofreading (I give a standing apology for any and all errors I don't catch the 5 or 6 times I re-read before posting). And I've learned quite a bit about posting pictures - conquering the whole size thing alone has been a trial... but I love pictures, so I won't give up.

But all of that is mechanics. More importantly, this experience has opened up a whole new world of fellow theatre lovers to me. I used to think that sometimes I was the only one! But no - this passion is widespread and growing. And I've made some good friends of fellow bloggers and from folks who read them. I look forward to meeting you face-to-face at a show in 2010!

Four of my favorite blogs are listed to the right. Please read them, too! And please, spread the word about this one if you really like it, and please don't hesitate to contact me privately with issues or concerns. I want this to be the very best it can be.

Thanks to all of you! And may this holiday season find you and yours happy, healthy and blessed.

Sincerely,
Jeff
