BOTH TO YOUR LEFT!
Broadway Box Office
Week #4 of the 2012 - 2013 Season
June 18 - 24; 32 Productions

Despite a hefty bounce at the box office, both of this week's closers, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Godspell still had pretty weak weeks, percentage-wise, 68.8% and 77.3%, respectively. .  Still, both shows went out on a high, with Godspell gaining 18.9% in attendance and $111,294 in receipts, and Priscilla gaining 17.6% attendance and a tidy $225,098 bump in receipts.  The other big gainer this week was Peter and the Starcatcher with a 12.8% bump in attendance (to a nice 92.6%), and modest gain of $88, 334 in receipts.  The Tony-winning Best Play, Clybourne Park remained relatively flat, dipping only slightly in attendance and box office.  The biggest loser of the week, the Tony-winning Best Musical Revival, The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess took a dive, dipping a huge 17.2% to end up with just 57.5% of the seats filled.  Of course, this is without Audra McDonald, who is out sick until next month.  (I have my thoughts about that, which I will keep to myself.)  Other than that, the usual shows are doing well, the rest continue to yo-yo up and down, and the shows getting ready to close are wheezing their way out.
