- The puzzle this month is a slightly uneven square: 33 blocks across by 31 blocks down.
- This week I'll provide clues for all the words that are in the first five lines, or at least start somewhere within the first five lines. You can assume that any unaccounted for blocks are black; the rest are blocks to be filled with letters.
At the bottom of each of these blogs, I'll re-write the clues like standard crossword puzzles do. And the pictures included are clues to the answers, too.
Here we go!
1. 1 Down: Row 1, Block 3. 5 letters: Personal secretary to Mame Dennis.
2. 2 Across: Row 1, Block 10. 12 letters: Her address is 10086 Sunset Boulevard.
3. 3 Down: Row 1, Block 16. 15 letters: Flop play starring Kristin.
4. 4 Across: Row 1, Block 27. 5 letters: One of the Hilton sisters.
5. 4 Down: Row 1, Block 27. 7 letters: Former Miss Hannigan who replaced Angela as Mrs. Lovett.
6. 5 Down: Row 2, Block 5. 6 letters: There's never been a musical like her.
7. 6 Across: Row 3, Block 1. 5 letters: The she-ogre of Shrek.
8. 7 Across: Row 3, Block 9. 12 letters: She wants her students to "Shine."
9. 8 Down: Row 3, Block 24. 14 letters: She was Mame.
10. 9 Across: Row 3, Block 27. 5 letters: There are worse things she could do.
11. 10 Across: Row 5, Block 3. 7 letters: Elle Woods' school.
12. 11 Down: Row 5, Block 7. 8 letters: She's a Jet, buddy boy.
13. 12 Down: Row 5, Block 12. 6 letters: She won a Tony for playing Anna to Diamond Phillips' King.
14. 13 Across: Row 5, Block 16. 14 letters: Kerry Butler in Hairspray.
15. 14 Down: Row 5, Block 29. 10 letters: Tony-winner for Ain't Misbehavin'.
REMEMBER: Any blocks not mentioned in the clues are either being used by other clues or are black. For example, since 1 Down doesn't start until block three, the first two squares of row 1 are black.
